If I could find the words to
define Stonefish, I would write paragraphs here, but for now
I can only say that Stonefish is a "collection of stories"
masquerading as a shop.
Port Clyde, Maine, our location,
is a very Thornton Wilder kind of place. Like Grover's Corner,
the stories found here, both past, present, and probably future,
are universal. With the items we sell, both new and old, I
create vignettes throughout the four rooms of the shop that
are intended to evoke the timeless tales of this village by
the sea.
On a given day you might come
upon Joseph Purdy's study filled with the natural curiosities
that he has brought back from his voyages abroad. Perhaps
you'll get a glimpse of Emma Wright's parlor featuring the
rug she hooked from her children's outgrown clothing. You
may find in your mind's eye a completely new story.
I hope as you wander through
this website that you catch a glimpse of what Stonefish is
about. Better yet, I hope that this site inspires you to come
visit.
It's been nice chatting with
you.
